“Award-winning pianist and composer William Schmidt completed Masters degrees at both the University of Melbourne and the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität in Vienna, Austria. He has been a regular concert and radio performer in Australia and internationally, and is in frequent demand both as a collaborative pianist and as a composer. “From Madrid to Melbourne” will feature a variety of works from different parts of the world, all showing some form of Spanish influence. These include the music of Scarlatti, Bizet, Piazzolla, a book of the evocative “Iberia” suite by Isaac Albéniz, and a brand new composition by the performer, inspired by his recent travels through Andalusia.”
